Apart from the splash and bubble visual effects that fountains create, the addition of soothing sound of water that they bring into the garden make these fountains invaluable. The visual and audio combination of water rising and falling back into a pool makes for an appealing contribution to an otherwise serene garden.
Most fountains are very flexible in terms of differently shaped fountain heads, as they come with attachments for various kinds of jet. Although it is best not to go for an arrangement that is overly complicated in a small pool, it is still possible to vary the arc of a single jet, a split jet, or three, five or multiple small-thread jets to provide a change of pace. This can be welcome within a small space.
Frog or toad fountains, which are perhaps more suitable for informal or wildlife pools, also will look very attractive in a semi-natural way placed with poolside plants, though you have to wary of plant growth so that they do not get covered up. Plants grow but the fountain in fixed, so always give yourself a little more breathing room by bringing your outlet connecting pipe out a little further beyond the foliage than you think necessary. Keep in mind to keep the distance that the piping has to run as short as possible in order to reduce the strain on the pump.
If you own a garden, fountains are amongst the simplest water displays to install as well as one of the most effective and prettiest ways to decorate. It is recommended you use a submersible pump, positioned at the bottom of the pool with its outlet spout pointing upwards to connect with the fountain unit. Both the pump and fountain unit should be supported on a brick or flat stone (i.e.a raised, flat surface) to keep them clear of the detritus that collects at the bottom of a pool. It is safest to run the power cable from the pool through a plastic conduit under a slab, before burying it in the ground.
Very shortly we will be talking about contemporary wall water fountains as well as outdoor slate wall fountains. Stay tuned.
